Rescue Boat Operator

Course Description

The Rescue Boat Operator course is suitable for people with little or no powerboat experience, who wish to attain an inland boat handling and rescue boat capability on flat or slow-moving water. Designed to provide personnel with the basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills to safely operate powered boats in a basic (non–moving) water environment.

Course Content Includes

Scope of operations, boat and hull types, drive units, maintenance, pre-trip procedures, rescue boat equipment, PPE, communications, weather considerations, navigation considerations, dynamic risk assessment, launching and recovery, crew operational roles, boat handling under power and with paddles, towing, anchoring, crew person overboard and recovery, casualty pick up, casualty management.

Duration

2 Days (12 contact hours).

Location

Menai Strait, North Wales. (we can facilitate the course at other selected areas but additional cost will be incurred).

Cost

£375 per person.
