BASIC WATER RESCUER
This course is designed for personnel who may work or who may be deployed to a basic (still) water environment, such as lakes, ponds and canals, where they may be required to undertake rescues.
Course Content Includes
Rescue philosophy, rescuer safety, hydrology and water hazards, personal and team equipment, on-scene safety briefing and site control, pre-planning and incident management, medical and de-contamination considerations, considerations for night operations, communications, basic swimming and self-rescue, bank-based rescue options, shallow water techniques, use of rescue platforms, sleds and boards, contact rescues, basic water search techniques.
Key Information: This course is facilitated at various locations across the UK.
Pre-Requisites: Minimum age 18. Must be a confident swimmer.
Duration: 2 days (9am – 5pm).
